A professional truck driver and NCCO certified crane operator, he died Friday, April 9, 2010, in an auto accident on Interstate 10 at Grosse Tete. He was 34, a resident of Denham Springs and native of St. Gabriel. Friends, family and classmates of Mark, Darla and their children were invited to visitation at Dutchtown Baptist Church, 36495 Braud Road, Prairieville, on Thursday, April 15, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visiting resumes at the church on Friday, April 16, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Harris. Interment in Price Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Darla Slaven Woodard; father, Ernest Woodard and wife Ester, of Prairieville; mother, Patricia Dove, of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, MaKayla, MaKenzie and Miranda Woodard, all of Watson; sister, Kelsey Meyer and husband Karl, of Baton Rouge; three brothers, David Holliday, of Baton Rouge, Brian Woodard and wife Natalie, of Hester, and Kalen Woodard, of Prairieville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thanks to his father-in-law, Charles "Randy" Slaven. He attended East Iberville High School, where he was a fullback and punter for the football team. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Price, Ricky Price, Tyler Ory, Jeffery Cambre, Kalen Woodard and Chris Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Spencer, Brian Woodard, Blake Spencer and Joseph Paul "Joey" Slaven III. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hancock Bank.
