I remember Jeanne telling me how much she disliked being born so near to Christmas.

Janet, thank you for keeping your Mom's memory alive through this guest book.

In Jeanne's memory, the senior citizens at the B.R.E.C. dance center on Independence blvd in Baton Rouge, made a donation to the Katrina victims who were without food. We collected food items for about 6 weeks and donated them for distribution to the needy.

God bless Jeanne's family....you will always be in my prayers, though I don't know most of you.

I still miss Jeanne and our long telephone talks late at night. She was a good friend to me and to my Mom, Helen Hudgins.

Jeanne could read people like most people read books...easily.This is

something I'll never forget..her smile, and her love of dancing.

My heart is filled with great sorry upon hearing of Mrs. Fountain's death. It was always such a pleasure to see her come into Walgreens during my night shifts. She always had something to tell me that would make me laugh. Since moving from Baton Rouge in January 2003, I have not had the opportunity to converse with her. But, I want her to know that there is no customer in Dallas that has or ever will take her place. My deepest sympathy for all of her family and friends.

Anyone that desires may go to the web-site: www.mem.com and then search "Fountain" at the top of the page. Click on the Jeanne Fountain with the picture, then click on "play movie". Once you again click "play movie" it will take a while to load, but there is a slide show of Momma you may watch of pictures from her whole life. It will remain online (supposedly) until July 25th.

I was so shocked and am in complete grief and disbelief in learning of Jeanne's untimely death. I am imploring her children to contact me, via email, or via telephone. Jeanne and my Mom became friends through our association with the BREC tea dance. My Daddy died in Jan of 03,and my Mom moved here in Sept of 03. Jeanne and my Mom exchanged phone numbers, and I kept in touch with her almost daily ever since that time.

We went on a 2 week vacation on the same day of Jeanne's death, but I wasn't in touch with any of her children...and they don't know me. I kept calling Jeanne's home and cell phone numbers. Even while I was on my Virginia/Kentucky trip, I was disturbed and knew that something was wrong. Vernon Thorning and I had a telephone conversation just today,7-14, and I learned of her death.

Jeanne touched my heart and my Mom's heart. She has touched my heart strings as well, and I have innumerable photos of her at the tea dance and many other dance venues. I will try to contact her children and please, they are free to call me at 261 3474.

God bless you all and please contact Cathy Arnett or Helen Hudgins.

My Grandmaw was the only Grandmaw that I really got to know. I loved to hear all of her silly stories and learning about all of her friends and family members. I just wish I could have told her one more time that I loved her. Grandmaw please watch over all of us and make sure that we all stay out of harms way. I will meat you in Heaven one day, but until then remember that I love you. Come visit me in my dreams, I would really love to see you then since I can't in person. I LOVE YOU GRANDMAW!!!! Mommie, I am sorry if I caused you to have your accident when I spoke with you on Tuesday morning. I know how much you love to dance and you said you were in a hurry to get ready and had something to clean up. I am so sorry Mommie, I love you and would rather walk through a mile of hot coals rather than to see you get hurt. Please forgive me. I love and miss you. I am sorry that you won't get to come up with Michelle like you wanted to do. Please visit me in my dreams. I will be waiting. You were the best Mommie ever. GOD Bless you and look over you.

I will miss Grandma's zest for life and adventurous nature. With her, there was never a loss of words or a lull in intelligent conversation. I will miss learning of her life's journey, but will treasure her stories and keep them in my heart forever.
