Gloria "Glory" Dean Johnson-Miller was granted her wings and flew home to be with God at 2:36 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010. Minister Gloria Dean Johnson-Miller was born May 29, 1948, to the union of Samuel Sr. and Eutha Johnson in Plaquemine. Gloria accepted Christ at an early age and was reared to honor God. In 1982, Gloria became a devoted member of Interdenominational Faith Assembly under the leadership of the late Edith M. Howard, pastor. Gloria was called to the ministry to teach God's word. Her life was a living testimony of God's miracle working powers. Gloria served faithfully until her illness would no longer allow her to do so. Gloria earned her high school diploma at Iberville High School in Plaquemine. She earned a bachelor's degree in education at Southern University and continued her education earning a master's degree. She retired as a schoolteacher from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. Teaching and her love of children were her passions. Gloria believed that every moment could be a teaching experience. She opened her heart and home to hundreds of children through the years. Gloria built her life on a foundation of love. Gloria leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband and friend of 43 years, Robert Miller Sr.; five children, Robin Miller Chapman and husband Roy, of Baton Rouge, Tammie Miller Howard and husband David, of Round Rock, Texas, Robert Miller Jr. and wife Felicia, of Gonzales, Willie Suzanne Miller, of Baton Rouge, and Erica L.
