A retired employee of Gulf States Utilities with 39 years service, he died at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at home in Baton Rouge. He was 79 and a native of New Roads. Visiting at A. Wesley Funeral Home, 10810 Ventress Drive, Maringouin, Friday, Aug. 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at McKowen Missionary Baptist Church, 1255 Louise St., Saturday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gerard A. Robinson Sr. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Maude J. Eaphrom; two daughters, Desiree Ephrom, Janice and husband Joseph Karanja; two sons, John Ephrom and wife Alisa, and Michael Ephrom and wife Terri; two stepsons, Gary Adams and Kerry Adams; five sisters, Georgia Carter, Carolyn Sambo, Gloria Spooner, Brenda Ephrom and Debra Ephrom; six brothers, Lucien, Leroy, Johnny, Leon, Daniel and Jeremy Ephrom; mother-in-law, Thelma Johnson; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
