A resident of Gonzales, he passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 83 and a native of Gurley. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Friday, Oct. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, at noon Friday, with the Rev. Boby Alex, celebrant. Entombment to follow in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Gonzales. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane G. and Randal Robert; son and daughter-in-law, Glen P. and Cathy Gonzales; sister, Brunhilde Roberts; granddaughter, Sarah Bates and fiancé Dave Paul; grandsons, Brandon Gonzales, and Bryan Gonzales and wife Morgan; stepgranddaughter, Allie Ryder; great-grandson, Kason Paul Gonzales; and stepgreat-grandsons, Ayden and Chandler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Wallace Gonzales; parents, Dewey J. and Lillie LeBlanc Gonzales; sister, Marie Louise Gonzales; and brother, John Dewey Gonzales. He was retired from the U.S. Maritime Service as a radio officer and was an honorary lifetime member of the Gonzales Fire Department. He was past president of the Gonzales Junior Chamber of Commerce, a lifetime member of the Louisiana Wildlife Federation and a member of the East Ascension Sportsman's League.
