Ira Lee W. Landry, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Donaldsonville, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at her residence. She was 86. She retired from Exxon in 1984 with 42 years of service and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Engineering Society, LSU Bengal Belles, Cruisin' Cajuns, Serendipity Dinner Club, Exxon Annuity Group, Red Hatters, St. Thomas More Senior Singles and St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She also served as a volunteer worker for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Visitation was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 10, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gerald Burns, celebrant. Entombment will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survivors include her son, Keith D. Landry; grandson, Gabriel H. Landry; former daughter-in-law, Donna G. Landry and spouse Jeff Birnbaum. Mrs. Landry was preceded in death by her husband, George "Freddie" Landry; father, Charles Weil; mother, Laura Lee P. Weil; brother, Charles Ray Weil; and sister-in-law, Lillian T. Weil. Pallbearers will be Phillip Thomas, John Thomas, Mike Darnell, Kent Broha, David Weil, Matt Weil, Eric Weil and Spencer Callahan. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Boudreaux, Norman Deumite, Scott Deumite, Craig Duhe, Kent Broha, Hillar Moore, Sam Begeron, Dave Blanchard, Cedric Vickers, Gean Bracken, Kenny Acosta, Stevie Acosta, Roland LeBlanc, Denny Mouch, Mark Valiollahi, Richard Mauzey, Adam Mauzey, Matthew Mauzey and Kenny Mauzey. Memorials may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Society or Bengal Tiger Aquatics. Special thanks to all her caregivers, Dr. Mike Rolfsen, Linda Morton, nursing care connections, Suzie Boutinot, Hospice of Baton Rouge and Bridget Mire.
