A native and resident of Port Vincent, he passed away at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012. He was 63 and a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement on Friday, Jan. 13, from 9 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jason Palmero. Interment in St. William Cemetery, Port Vincent. He is survived by his wife, Mary Dupuy; son, Brad Dupuy and wife Tonya; daughter, Amy Stephens and husband James "Jimmy"; eight grandchildren, Blaine Dupuy, Ashley Welborn and husband Dane, Brooke Dupuy, James "Jimmy" Stephens III, Jacob Wayne Stephens, Lindsey Stephens, Vanessa Stephens and Jessica Stephens; and a great-grandchild, Aubrie Welborn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lies and Gladys Edwards Dupuy; and his four brothers, Lloyd, Velmond, Leroy and Gary Dupuy. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an avid LSU baseball fan.
