Hingle, Dorothy Ricouard Dorothy Ricouard Hingle, 83, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at her home as a result of Hurricane Katrina. She was a homemaker and a devoted caretaker of her son, Russell Embry. She was born in Violet and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for most of her life. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Chalmette. She is survived by three daughters, Sally Embry Viada of Violet, Hazel Embry Cooley and husband James of Florence, Miss., and Betty Embry LeBlanc of Chalmette; stepdaughter, Evelyn Hingle of St. Bernard; three stepsons, Gerald Hingle of St. Bernard, Robert Hingle Sr. of Violet and Ronald Hingle Sr. and wife Laura of Meraux; two sisters, Evelyn Ricouard Kienow of Tacoma, Wash., and Mercedes Ricouard of Covington; and a brother, Alvin Ricouard of St. Bernard. She also is survived and loved by 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Her only son, Russell George Embry, perished with her during Hurricane Katrina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Martin Hingle; parents, Victor Ricouard Sr. and Eveline Jeanfreau Ricouard, who were of Chalmette; and a son-in-law, George LeBlanc Jr. Visitation on Saturday, Nov. 19, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 399 Barrow St., Pearl, Miss., from 2 p.m. until memorial service at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Martin Ruane officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to the service. Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home, Jackson, Miss., is handling the arrangements.
