Jerry Seymour, 75, was born in Ocean Springs, MS and a resident of Baton Rouge. Loving husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, August 8. Jerry fought a long hard 12 year battle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's and yesterday he won. He was at home, surrounded by his devoted wife of 52 years and family who loved him dearly. Preceded in death by his father Nealy Seymour, his mother Eunice Seymour, and son-in-law Paul Walding. Jerry is survived by his wife Billie Tye, Baton Rouge, daughter Kathleen Walding, Baton Rouge, daughter Kim Seymour, Houston, TX, son Karl Seymour and wife Michelle, Baton Rouge. Three grandchildren; Kaelyn Rahrer and husband Ben, South Carolina, Neal and Josh Seymour, Baton Rouge. Jerry was very proud of his military service with the US Army. He served as radar technician in Kansas, Arizona, and Hawaii. Jerry was educated in Mississippi and attended Mississippi State University where he studied engineering. He was a very devoted Bulldog fan but with three children at LSU he hardly stood a chance. Upon his retirement at age 63, Jerry had been employed as an industrial designer at Exxon Refinery since 1966. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gerard Dynes and the wonderful caregivers from Amedisys Hospice, Amy, Kim, Sarah, Chaplain Barry, and especially Jennifer. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 5:00pm at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs. Chaplain Barry Lagg will conduct a memorial service at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
