Frank DeVaull Obituary

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day. II Timothy 4:6-8. A chief mechanic, retired U.S. Postal letter carrier and a World War II Army Veteran, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at his home. He was 86, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Fort Adams, M.S. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services at Winnfield Funeral Home, Friday, Nov. 9 at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Bishop Raymond Johnson. Interment at Louisiana National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Laura Turner DeVaull; four daughters, Rita (Albert) Johnson, Peggy Hatch, Frances (Roy) Stone, and Alma (Tommy) Lawson; son, Frank DeVaull, Jr.; two brothers, Robert Williams of Natchez, M.S., and Leonard Tuesno of New Orleans; and 25 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Percy and Taylor Devaull; son, John I. DeVaull; four brothers; and three sisters. He was the treasurer of Baton Rouge AM postal workers union for 28 years, an ordained minister, and Sunday school teacher.
