Janet Rita Neveu Mix, 93, a native of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and resident of Baton Rouge passed away peacefully at the Baton Rouge General Butterfly Wing on Sunday, December 2, 2012 after a brief illness. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School. She was retired from South Central Bell with 37 years of service and a member of the AT&T Pioneers. She was the wife of the late Gaston Michel (G.M.) Mix, Jr. Born and raised in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Onesime W. and Blanche Boissy Neveu, and recently preceded in death by her dear sister, Constance (Connie) N. Morisseau of Cumberland, RI. Survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan M. and Edward M. Landry, Sr., Donaldsonville, Madeleine M. and John M. Varner, Baton Rouge; a son and two daughters-in-law, Michael G. and Barbara Mix, Baton Rouge, and Paula R. Mix, Gulf Shores, AL; one sister, Lucille N. West, N. Smithfield, Rhode Island; 8 grandchildren, Sandra M. Mix, Cindy and Edward M. Landry, Jr., Jan M. and Aaron Green, Todd M. and Cristel Landry, Erin M. and Chad Wells, Tara L. and Ben Martinez, Meagan M. and Jessica R. Varner; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, William and Emma Englade, Collin, Abigail, Miranda, and Trent Landry, Aidan and Brianna Green, and Caroline Martinez all of whom she loved dearly and was very proud. We are thankful for the gift of God's great love & the many blessings bestowed upon us. Having our awesome Mom, Memere, Matante & Aunt Jane, and Girlfriend with good health & so much "spunk", FAITH, & inspiration for 93 great years has truly been a blessing from the good Lord! Her wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest with her husband with a private interment at Port Hudson National Cemetery. A memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Nicholas J. Nutter, III at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., where she was a parishioner & member of Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, and Bulletin Folders.
