Lucille Bersuder Hubert, 99 years old, of San Leon, Texas, formerly of Baton Rouge LA ,passed away on January 21, 2013, after a brief illness. Lucille was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 11, 1913. She was married on May 11,1936 to Frederick Clarence Hubert who was the chief engineer at the State Times Morning Advocate until his death in 1963.Lucille was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; she enjoyed gardening, and shared a special love of Arabian horses with her granddaughter Leslie. She was also a longtime supporter of Catholic charities. Lucille is survived by three daughters Edna Hubert Poche, Patricia Hubert Pizzuto and Mary Hubert Cherry as well as nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband Frederick Clarence Hubert and a daughter Kathleen Hubert Johnson. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:30am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. to be followed by a mass for Christian burial at 12:30pm. Father Peter Dane will be officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn cemetery in Baton Rouge.
