James Byrd Lockaby, of Baton Rouge, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the age of 68. He was a Marine and served in the Vietnam War. While serving he received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Lockaby; daughter, Jessica Ann Rodriguez; sons, Joseph Lockaby and wife Gail, James Lockaby, and Jerry Lockaby; step-sons, Shane Thibodeaux and wife Heather, Eric Thibodeaux, Christopher Soday, and Josh and wife Jenny Scott; grandchildren, Jauquin Rodriguez, Cade Soday, Chase Soday and Hailey Scott; brother, Charles Lockaby and wife Angie; sisters, Joyce Meadows, Shirley Thompson and husband Paul, Wanda Hoskins, and Patricia Woodward and husband Billy; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son, J.B. Lockaby; wife, Shirley Ann Lockaby; wife, Barbara Ann Thibodeaux; parents, James and Louise Lockaby; grandparents, Charles and Biddi Lockaby, and Sam and Anna Morgan; siblings, Jerry, Janet and Janise; his brother-in-law and numerous aunts and uncles.
