Norman Leighton Neyland

A resident of Kenner and native of Norphlet, AR, he passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at River Region Hospice House. He was 85 and a Retired Accountant, Entrepreneur, Gardner and US Army Veteran. Visiting at Broadmoor Methodist Church on Saturday, May 4 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and Macedonia U.M.C., Centreville, MS on Sunday, May 5 from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Bill Neyland. Interment at Macedonia Church Cemetery, Centreville, MS. He is survived by his two daughters, Carrie L. Neyland of Metairie and Angela Cory Hillman of Prairieville; four sons, Robert William Leighton Neyland of Mandeville, John Christopher Holm Neyland of Baton Rouge, Sidney Swayze Stubblefield Neyland of Baton Rouge and Thomas Louis Galpin Neyland of Baton Rouge; one sister, Carrie E. Neyland of Centreville, MS; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a beloved pet "Mr. Buttons". He was preceded in death by his parents, William Leighton Neyland and Ruby Pearl Stubblefield Neyland; wife, Norma Holm Neyland; and sister, Barbara Ruth Neyland Alford McDavitt. He loved gardening, opera, history, football and stamp and coin collection; member of Deutsches Gesellschaft German Club. Newman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
