Obituary

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he passed peacefully away at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, surrounded by family at his home in Addis. He was 77, a native of Napoleonville, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. After his time in the service, he was a local business owner who spent more than 30 years as a pipeline welder and member of Local 798. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Wednesday, May 22, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Thursday, May 23, from 9 a.m. until Rite of Christian Burial at noon, conducted by Deacon Alfred Ricard. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by his wife of 17 years, Darlene Breaux; four daughters, Christine Savoie Breaux, of Mandeville, Kim Simon and husband Jason, of Moss Bluff, Angel Chaisson, of Addis, and Vicki Savoie and husband Chris, of Mandeville; stepdaughter, Tina Voisin and husband Terry, of Houma; a son, Brett Breaux, of Sulphur; stepson, Merlin Savoie and wife Jill, of Chauvin; four sisters, Roycie Bernard, of Baton Rouge, Doris Dugas, Katherine Blutcher and husband Curtis, and Beverly Mable and husband Sidney, all of Pierre Part; a brother, Booster Breaux and wife Jeanette, of Pierre Part; four grandchildren, Kade Allen Kohnke, Jansen Chaisson, Brianna Simon and Jessica Savoie; stepgrandchildren, Jade and Brett Voisin, Taylor Savoie and Brook Savoie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Sabin Breaux; mother, Dolores Simoneaux Daigle; a daugther, Cheryl Ann Breaux; two sisters, Elda Gomez and Shirley Jackson. Pallbearers will be Michael Perera, Todd and Mark Bernard, Glen gomez, Brandon Chessher and Grant Kohnke. Honorary pallbearer is Jansen Chaisson.
