Peggy, my heart goes out to you. John was the finest man and you were both such wonderful next door neighbors on Cloudland Dr. years ago. He & I always enjoyed our talks about life in the front yard. His face just lit up with that wonderful smile. Such a nice man! I am so sorry for your loss. With blessings and comfort...

To Ms. Peggy and family, in the 17 years that I knew John, he was always a jovial and enjoyable man to visit with and talk to; I grieve with you in his loss. His bold testimony as a Christ follower always encouraged me as a fellow brother in Christ! It is a great hope to know he sees our Lord Jesus face to face! I continue to pray for you all. With love in Christ,

Dearest Peggy, it seems like yesterday when John and I met up in New York to pick up the Baron and fly it back home. It was his first twin and I signed him off for his Multi Engine Lic. We had such a great time together, so sorry for your loss. Its was really a shock..Dudley

Mrs Peggy,
I'm so sorry to hear of John's death. My brother, Dudley Weber, called and asked if I had heard. He proceeded to tell me how he knew the two of you. He related a trip he had made with John to pick up a plane, and was saying how much he admired John, and thought the world of him. He sends his deepest condolences to you and wishes he could be here.
I attend First New Testament Church, and I know that all our prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Marlo

FOR THE FOWLER AND PENN FAMILY....
(This has brought me comfort when Little Joe passed away, hope it helps in rounding off the sharp edges of this horrible loss and pain.)
I AM NOT THERE.......
Do not stand at my grave and weep:
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond's glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripening grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I AM NOT THERE. I DID NOT DIE....
He will always be with us, everywhere.
love, Jennie Moore

John Fowler was such a sweet, wonderful man with such compassion and love for all... He was so soft spoken and had the most beautiful smile, and always had something good to say about everyone. We even called him a young Kris Kristofferson, but much better looking!...He came into our life in the 70's and the void that he leaves is so huge and he will never be forgotten.
His many trips to take "Little Joe" and our family to Memphis to St. Jude were so kind of him and he made them enjoyable and safe, as he was an outstanding pilot and knew his business and was so professional. I will never forget my being co-pilot all the way to Colorado and what he taught me.
My Mother always loved him and said I am going flying with that "good looking" man... she thought he "hung the moon!"
We will never forget all the fun we had skiing and his "monkey bread" and "broccoli casserole" he and Peggy would prepare for dinner,... outstanding.
He was like a brother to us and we were a part of the Penn-Fowler family. His precious son Brian, came to live with us in Hilton Head in 1986 for a while and we enjoyed and loved him so much that he felt like ours, and helped fill a void of our loss of "Little Joe". Brian was so polite and reminded us so much of John and his teachings.
We can not believe he is gone, but we know where he is... in heaven... with "Little Joe" and all our loved ones. Now he can "fly" with the angels!
We can not express how much we loved him and how our heart hurts for the loss of him and for yours and the rest of each family's. Peggy, you and John were a team and so special and we loved you like a sister. We pray that God helps heal that void, and replaces it with the many people that loved him and you. I put his news on a personal prayer list to 95 people, and so many have answered me back and said you all are in their prayers at this moment.
Jofy, Jennie, Rusty and Mandy Hughes will always have him in our hearts and send love and blessings to his family and all of the Penn's, as they were part of us! WE LOVE YOU!
Please keep in touch with us and know that he will NEVER be forgotten, nor will you Peggy... we love all of you so very much. love, Jennie, Jofy, Rusty
and Mandy.....let us know if we can be of any help in any capacity...
Thanks for enduring this lengthy message, but that is what it takes to say how special he was!

John Fowler was a true southern gentleman! I've had the pleasure to know John professionally since 1988 when I met him at the Beechcraft dealership in Houston, TX. He was a professional pilot and his planes were always maintained to the highest standards. He was a fixture at the Baton Rouge Airport. I will miss him and I know he is resting in a better place right now.
My condolences to his family for their loss.
