Roger Eugene Manfre, a native of New Orleans, died August 25, 2013, at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI. He was 79 years old. Roger was born September 1, 1933, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Margaret (nee Finney) and Samuel Manfre. Roger proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Sandra Barthel, May 11, 1963. Roger was a member of Mary Queen of Peace in Mandeville, Louisiana and SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sandra Manfre, son, Christopher Manfre and daughter, Stacey (Michael) Lawler. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, Dominic, Andrew, and Meredith and sister, Dorothy Manfre-Lambert. Roger is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Manfre, and sister, Catherine Manfre. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, Friday at 12 noon.
