Raymond "Raymie" Lincoln Desjardins II, 55, died peacefully from a brain injury on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Joseph's Carpenter House. Born September 15, 1958, he was a Baton Rouge native and an alumnus of LSU. Raymie earned a Master of Arts in Education and graduated magna cum laude. He practiced as a licensed professional counselor, but also worked as a skilled carpenter. An avid fisherman, hunter, and marksman, he celebrated life through his love of the outdoors. He is survived by his wife Dawn, daughter Monica, granddaughter Ellia, his beloved dog Pee-Wee, his parents Ray and Bettye Desjardins; two sisters, Karen Roosenberg and husband Tim, Jennine Scott and husband Stuart; two uncles, Warren Desjardins and wife Jacki, Rex P. Callicott; and an aunt, Margie Nelson and husband Larry. He is preceded in death by an aunt, Nela Callicott. A memorial service will be held at the Jones Creek Seventh-day Adventist church on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Visitation will be held from 3pm-4pm, with services at 4pm, officiated by Pastor Tim Roosenberg. A repass will follow the service. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East in charge of arrangements.
