Christian Faser III

Christian Faser III, 74 died peacefully Friday, November 28, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at his residence in Batchelor, Louisiana. Chris was born in Winona, Mississippi, and his parents were the late Chris Faser Jr, and Mariska "Biz" Faser. He was a long time resident of Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He made his career with the State of Louisiana and retired from the Louisiana Department of Insurance. After retirement he moved to his country home in upper Pointe Coupee Parish, lovingly referred to as "Provence". He was the devoted and loving husband of his wife of 48 years, Patricia "Patsy" Flanagan Faser who preceded him in death November 20, 2010. Christian contributed to his adopted community of Batchelor volunteering as a member of the Fire Protection District, and enjoyed being a "gentleman farmer". Chris loved the outdoors and enjoyed numerous hunting and fishing adventures, but especially those in this state. He was also an accomplished skeet shooter, and shared his love of the sport and his expertise with all. The family he leaves behind includes a sister-in-law, Vickie Flanagan Jastram and her husband, Paul, of Calhoun, Georgia and two beloved nephews Ben Jastram of Lafayette, Louisiana and Daniel Jastram of Calhoun, Georgia. What he lacked in numbers of family was more than made up in friends. The family would like to thank the dedicated employees of St. Michael Hospice and especially the close friends Chris and Patsy made and whose love and support was constant in their waning years and will forever be appreciated and fondly remembered.
