Raby, Ledell A retired carpenter and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Sunday, April 22, 2007. He was 80 and a native of St. Francisville. Visiting at New Gideon Baptist Church, 2542 Balis Drive, on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Bessix. Interment in Gilbert's Memorial Park, Greenwell Springs Road. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Al and Laila Raby; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lizzie and Arthur Tolliver, Linda and Charles Mitchel, and Topeka Raby, all of Baton Rouge; stepson, Calvin and wife Betty Emery of Zachary; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, James and Clara Raby, Joseph and Faye Raby, Peter and Kathleen Raby, and Thelma Raby; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vinnie and J.C. Pero, and Louise and Willie Spann; 12 grandchildren, Lydia Bowie, Marisheilla Barker, Dammeion Clark, Tamara Turner, Kenyetta Marks, Catherine Raby, Nico Clark, Al Raby Jr. and Ledell Raby, all of Baton Rouge, Natalie Mukes and Jamaila Lowe, both of Houston, and Tabatha Warren of Bronx, N.Y.; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Catherine McCoy Raby and Eliza Dorsey Raby; parents, James and Carrean Raby; two brothers, Felix and Elvin Raby; and two sisters, Oliva Virgil and Mary Ann Armstrong. Rhodes United Fidelity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
