Truly devastated to hear the news on my first day back at uni today. Lin Laoshi, you will be deeply missed. You were the best Chinese teacher I have ever had - always willing to go that extra mile for your students. Chinese will not be the same without you this year and this saddens me deeply, however I am so very fortunate to have had you as my teacher. I will always remember the warm and kindhearted person you were. May you rest in peace.

I was fortunate to have Lin Laoshi teach me third year Chinese at Deakin. I have never met a more inspiring or passionate teacher in all my years of study - evident from the way she would clap and praise students every time a question was answered (rightly or wrongly) and every time someone would just simply have a go at speaking in Chinese in class. The world will be a sadder place without her presence and she will be sorely missed.
