Juanita L. Currier (nee Feakins), 83, of Elyria, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Wesleyan Village in Elyria.
She was born May 7, 1929, in Oberlin and was a 1948 graduate of Oberlin High School.
She had been employed at Beneficial Finance before retiring.
She held the office of women's auxiliary president for VFW
Post 1664 in Amherst.
Juanita was dedicated to her family and always cared for others. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughters, Gerrye (Allen) Weigl of Elyria and Rhonda Currier of Elyria; sons Leon Currier of Elyria, Michael (Diane) Currier of Green Oaks, Ill., and Dale (Janie) Currier of Elyria; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and her sister, June Pike of Illnois.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gerald H. Currier on Feb. 17, 2011; parents, Glen and Ruth Feakins (nee Reighley); brothers Glenn Feakins, Herb Feakins, and Darryl Feakins; and sisters Mildred and Roberta.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 2 at Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst for both Gerald and Juanita. The will rest together at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053.
