Sandra Sue (Shelton) Brown (1939 - 2013)

Sandra Sue Brown (nee Shelton), 73, of Amherst, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Oak Hills Nursing Home in Lorain, following a lengthily illness.
She was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Elkins, W.Va. Sandra was raised in West Virginia before moving to Ohio in 1959. She had made her home in Amherst since 2005.
Sandra was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital Practical School of Nursing, graduating in the Class of 1985.
She was employed as an LPN at Harbourside Nursing Home for 25 years before retiring. She was also employed at the former Air Born, now Parker Hannifin Corporation, for 17 years.
Sandra was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 118 of Amherst and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 451 in Lorain.
She loved traveling both nationally and internationally with her family to France, Italy, England, and Alaska. Sandra enjoyed her many vacations with her husband to Englewood, Fla., and trips to Cancun with her sister Gloria.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, James Brown; grandchildren Stephanie Rothman, Kevin Keisman, Holly Keisman, and Daniel Keisman; brothers Jerry Shelton of Elkins, W.Va., and Robert Shelton of New Jersey; and sisters Gloria Miller and Janet Skidmore of Elkins, W.Va., Dorothy Dorante of Philadelphia, and Kathleen Moore of Elkins, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Keisman in 1993; her parents, William and Lillian Shelton/Phillips (nee Daff); and sister, Nancy McDowny.
Services were held Monday, March 4 at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.
Burial was at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, North Regional Office, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
