Barnett, Margaret Janette (Yeager)  
Margaret Janette Yeager Barnett, 60, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Truman Thomas Barnett, died Monday, April 13, 2015 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky to the late Royce Gilbert and Margaret Bell Hughes Yeager. She was a member and choir leader at Friendship Unity Community Church; cafeteria worker at Saffell Street Elementary School; bus monitor for Anderson County Schools; member of Anderson County Democratic Women's Club and Anderson County Democratic Executive Committee; and a 1973 graduate of Western High School. Ms. Barnett is survived by a son, William Thomas Barnett; daughters, Billie Jo (William) Waldridge and Tracy Michelle Barnett, all of Lawrenceburg; brother, Danny (Sue) Yeager, Lawrenceburg; sisters, Rosanna Yeager, Lexington, Peggy (Kenny Hood) Peach, Chaplin, and Tracy Cammack, Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Georgia Bell Judge and Matthew Buel Waldridge, both of Lawrenceburg; uncle, Larry Yeager and aunt, Sandy Long, both of Mercer County. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bros. George Jones and Albert Peach officiating. Burial will follow in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601. Casket bearers were William Barnett, Royce Yeager, Trevor Yeager, Adam Tingle, John Gilbert Peach and Andy Cammack. Honorary bearers will be her daughters, sisters, John Wayne and Kathy Conway, Scott Brothers, Danny Crouch, William Daniel Drummond and Lee Hahn.

Boston, Joe Van  
Joe Van Boston, 90, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at his residence. Husband of the late Jesse Lillian Richards Boston, he was born Aug. 6, 1924 in Anderson County. He was a son of the late Gip and Lillie Ray Robinson Boston. Joe was a farmer, former security guard at Florida Tile, heavy equipment operator, milk hauler and worked at Kroger. He was a member of Shiloh Christian Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved caring for animals. Joe is survived by a nephew, Larry (Donna) Harris; great nephews and niece, Eric (Teresa) Harris, Vicki (Rick) Allen, Shannon (Jennifer) Harris and Patrick Harris; great-great nephew and nieces, Jonathan Overall, Zachary Overall and Tabitha (Joe) McCoun; and a great-great-great nephew, Jamie Overall, all of Lawrenceburg. Funeral service was Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Don Wells officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Bryant, Prentice  
Prentice Bryant, 82, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Mr. Bryant was born in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky to the late Charles and Ethyl Bryant. He was retired from the Air Force and International Harvester where he worked for 44 years. He was also a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. Mr. Bryant is survived by one niece, Linda Schureman, of Frankfort. Besides his parents, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his eight brothers, William Norris Bryant; Harold Kanaugh Bryant; Shermon Dee Bryant; Forest Bryant; Richard Allen Bryant; Carlton Lee Bryant; David Bryant; and J.B . Bryant. Funeral services will be Friday April 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601. Howard Coleman Carpenter, 77, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. He was a son of the late Stanley Samuel and Ruby Ruth Hammonds Carpenter. Howard is survived by four children, Kathy L. Berryman, Flossie Doss, Scott C. Carpenter and Karen S. Driskell. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 28 at Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Goodlett, Johnny Lewis  
Johnny Lewis Goodlett, 67, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was born in Frankfort to the late John Cecil and Jesse Norris Drury Goodlett. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church; retired from Wild Turkey Distillery after 31 years as a Dry House Operator; a 1966 graduate of Western-Anderson High School; and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Goodlett is survived by a daughter, Dawn Renee (Floyd) May, Frankfort; two brothers, Stevie (Beth) Goodlett and Rodney (Linda) Goodlett, both of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Jake Hyman, Ashley Nicole May, Russell McCoy Catlett and Taylor Breanne May; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Renee Culwell, Jessica Cole Hyman and James Patrick Hyman. Funeral services Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bobby Chesser officiating. No burial to follow, cremation was chosen. Honorary bearers will be Stevie, Rodney, Kyle, Dustin, Stewart and Seth Goodlett, Jake Hyman and Russell Catlett.

Florence Smith Hill, 80, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 20, 1935 to the late Bernard and Catherine Josephine Briner Smith. She was the widow of Henry Thomas Hill. Florence was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her sons, Charles Hill, James Hill (Jodie), John Hill (Charlene), Ronnie Hill (Sharon), Calvin Hill (Christy); a brother, Paul Smith; a sister, Anna Wolfe; grandchildren, Steven, Lori, Scottie, Jamie, Josee, John Thomas, Buck, Mary, Tiffany, C.J., and Caleb Hill, Shannon Pierce, Robert Walker and Hope Watkins; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas Hill and Henry Hill Jr.; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. (today) Wednesday, April 29, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Shirley Jane Walker Martin, 86, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born in Louisville to the late Leon C. and Lillian Barnes Walker. She was a member of First Christian Church; worked in Human Resources at the Office of Vital Statistics for the Kentucky State Government; member of Democratic Woman's Club; founding member of the Anderson Humane Society; and a proud member of Green Peace, and PETA. She is survived by a son, Samuel Scott (Shayne) Martin, Lawrenceburg; daughter, Jill Martin (Joseph) Lyle, Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mallory Lyle, Fairborn, Ohio; Kelli and Hunter Martin, Lawrenceburg; and her beloved dog and constant companion, Hank. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Lee" Martin. Funeral services were Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Sanders, Vernon  
Vernon Sanders, 71, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home. Born May 21, 1943 in Chaplin, Vernon was a son of the late Zora Sanders. Vernon was known for being an antique dealer and the owner of the former Sander's Antiques in Lawrenceburg and Shelbyville. A member of Sand Spring Baptist Church, Vernon served as usher for 21 years and also worked with the Disaster Relief for several years. Vernon is survived by his former wife, Sue Drury Sanders; two daughters, Susan Stinnett (Pat Cox) of Lawrenceburg, and Kathy White (Joe) of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Josh Stinnett, Will Eubank, and Ally Beasley; two great grandchildren, Skyler Beasley and Ava Grace Beasley. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today (Wednesday,) April 29 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Hamrick and Ellery Milburn will officiate. Vernon chose cremation to follow services. Honorary bearers will be Harold Reynolds, Larry Drury, Jimmy Sanders, Josh Stinnett, Will Eubank, Travis Beasley, Pat Cox, Steve Trent, Larry Smith, Raymond Singleton, David Hume, Brent Hume, Joe Wilkins, Brent Hawkins, William Pittman, and Johnny Shouse. Shingleton, Billy Powers  
Billy Powers Shingleton, 78, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at McKinley Court. Billy was born Feb. 20, 1937 in Frankfort, Kentucky to Oscar Powers and Louise Nicolls Shingleton. He married Dorothy Riehle on April 13, 1996 in Decatur. He was a foundry worker for Wagners for 32 years. He loved hunting, fishing, Steak-n-Shake, rummage sales and auctions. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark Shingleton Sr., Decatur; two daughters, Sharon (Harvey) Bradley of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Mary Ruth Shingleton of Sellersburg, Indiana; two step daughters, Crystal Alexander of Warrensburg and Cindy Alexander of Jacksonville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Jesse, David, Latishia, Mark Jr., Caleb, Jordan and Patrick; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Ashton, Braylon, Elijah, Isaac and Lataevious "Charles"; three brothers, Earl (Jane) Shingleton, Oscar "Red" (Joyce) Shingleton, both of Lawrenceburg, Jackie Steven Shingleton; four sisters, Mary Morris, of Louisville, Alice (Clayton) Moreland, Lawrenceburg, Nancy Copeland, Decatur, and Rebecca Sue Shingleton of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and one sister. Services were held Tuesday, April 21 at the Gospel Chapel Church in Decatur. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery.
