Ethel Jessie Hill, Frankfort, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at her residence.
A native of Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Warren Madison and Annie Sea Melear.
She spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed having family around her. She was an avid reader, quilter and loved to travel, having visited all 50 states. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church where she previously taught Sunday school.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Selbert Hill; sisters Catherine Washburn, Marjorie Sparrow, Irene Simpson, Sadie Brown; brother Ellis Melear and grandson-in-law Terry Bromley.
She is survived by one daughter, Anna Mae (Richard) Moores, Louisville; sister Ella Best, Frankfort; three grandchildren, Tanya Bromley, Deborah (Joseph) Kleykamp and Rick Moores; two great-grandchildren Patricia (Jon) Mattison and Scott (Tara) Kleykamp; three great-great grandchildren Paige and Graham Kleykamp and A.J. Mattison.
Funeral services were held March 21 at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Brad Hockensmith and Dr. Craig Loscalzo officiated. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Rick Moores, Joe Kleykamp, Scott Kleykamp, Jon Mattison, Tony Perry and Ed Brown.
