Evelyn Mae Shelton Kays, 88, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at her residence.
She is the widow of Chester Lockhart Kays, Sr. and was born in Mercer County to the late Thomas "Tommy" and Dessie Mae Harley Shelton.
She is also predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Jane Kays, a sister Vadie Brown, and two brothers Hobert and Hubert Shelton.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Kays is survived by six children, David Allen Kays and Larry Ray Kays, both of Lawrenceburg, Conley Floyd Kays (Debbie) of Salvisa, Chester L. Kays, Jr. (Bobbie), Debra Lynn Kays (Dee), and Patsy Sue Bush (Terry), all of Lawrenceburg; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a sister Madie Smith of Lawrenceburg; and a brother Thomas Shelton of Lawrenceburg.
Funeral services were held April 9 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Eaton and Bro. Carl Bush officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Robinson, Jason Bush, Jesse Rodriguez, Junior Grantham, Michael Helson, Jordan Kinder, Billy Walker and Chad Walker.
