Robert E. "Bob" Johnson, 99, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Anderson, Ind., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at his residence.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Kathryn Palmer Johnson.
He was born Aug. 2, 1914, in Indianapolis, Ind., to the late John Edgar and Mary Elizabeth Blockson Johnson.
He worked as a farmer and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson, Ind.
Upon moving to Kentucky, he worked at Frankfort Habilitation. He is a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.
Johnson is survived by a son, Ron E. Johnson and a daughter, Bambi (Bobby) Sparrow of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Heather L. Boggs, Ragan N. (Brad) Burge, Todd (Mary) Sparrow, Tonya (Paul) Cookendorfer; five great grandchildren, Sadie Kathryn Burge, Megan and Sean Sparrow, Kala and Hunter Cookendorfer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Including his wife and parents, he was preceeded in death by three sisters, Lillian Lockwood, Polly Seybert, and Peggy Stollemyer; and four brothers, James C. Johnson, Richard T. Johnson, Col. William T. Johnson, and Lt. Col. Ralph E. Johnson.
Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home in Anderson, Ind.
