Charles Wilkerson Redman, 80, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hildegard Edith "Hilde" Kitzelmann Redman on July 7, 2013.
He was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Tyrone to Charles Diamond and Nannie Jane Searcy Redman.
He was a retired master carpenter with the Kentucky State Government and was also a retired Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church, The National Rifle Association, The Henry County Bow Hunters Club and The North American Fishing Club. Charles enjoyed wood working and had made several items for his family, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had received several awards in these areas.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Richard Redman, Sr. of Lawrenceburg and Gerry Allen Redman (Vicki) of Canton, Ohio; two daughters, Angela Rene Deitsch and Cathy Ann Redman Peach (Henry), all of Lawrenceburg; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Tobias Redman and a grandson, Zachary Riley.
Funeral services were held July 29 at Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith McAliley officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Angela Deitsch, Cathy Peach, Charles Redman, Gerry Redman, Jason Edwards and Mark Redman.
Honorary bearers were Ben Redman, Brittany Peach, Desiree Riley and Charles Richard Redman, Jr.
