Dorothy Gill Howard Cox, 95, wife of the late Delbert Owen Cox Sr., died Friday, May 23, 2014 at her home.

She was born in Woodford County to the late Harney Gill Howard and Grace Webber Howard. She was a farmer, attended Alton Christian Church; and was a member of the Alton Homemakers Club for 75 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Lois Tinsley; three sons, Delbert (Joyce) Cox Jr., Robert Cox, and Roger (Shirley) Cox, all of Lawrenceburg; 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Scrogham, Lawrenceburg, Faye Burns, Waynesburg, Patsy (Pete) Turner, Versailles, and Doris (Pete) Karnezis, Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, a great-great-granddaughter, four sisters, Starlina Wickek, Viola Beasley, Etta Harley, and Gertrude Smith; and a brother, Harney Howard Jr.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Noal Cotton and Bro. Jack Smith officiating. Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Alton Christian Church.
Casketbearers were Chris Cox, Ken Cox, Roger Thomas Cox, Raymond Tinsley, and Wade Tinsley.
Honorary bearers were all other grandchildren.
