George Samuel "G.S." Rucker, 83, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Signature Health Care in Taylorsville, Ky.

He was born in Shelby County to the late William Harkus "WH" Rucker and Ruby Perry Rucker.
Rucker worked as a lab tech with Kraft Foods for 37 years and as a farmer. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he served as deacon, song leader and played the piano and organ. He served as an interim pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a member of the Mt. Eden Masonic Lodge, and sang with the Cedar Hill Kids nursing home ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise Cox Rucker; a daughter, Brenda Louise Cinnamon (Maurice) of Lawrenceburg; two sons George Michael Rucker (Nollie) of Lawrenceburg and Tony Randall Rucker of Waddy; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three brothers, William Estill "Bill" Rucker of Lawrenceburg, Bobby Carroll Rucker (Betty) of Louisville and Walter Thomas Rucker (Barbara) of Frankfort.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Edward Rucker.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 18 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Pigeon Fork Cemetery with Bro. Grant O'Dell officiating. from
Pallbearers were Tracy, Robert, and Mathew Cinnamon, Jason, Brandon, Todd, and Tony Rucker, and Roy Epperson.
