Jerry D McBrayer, 72, husband of Winona Combs McBrayer for more than 44 years, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at his home.
A native of Anderson County, he was the son of the late Blakemore and Cecil Virginia Driscoll McBrayer and was a member of Lawrenceburg Christian Church.
Jerry served four years as an Air Force Police before joining the Kentucky State Police where he served as a trooper for 30 years prior to his retirement. Then he joined the Georgetown Police Department for two years and then served as a Scott County Deputy Coroner for six years.
Survivors besides his wife include one son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Jennifer McBrayer, Georgetown, Ky.; one granddaughter, Kendra Blake McBrayer and one step granddaughter, Holly J. Moore.
Two brothers, Ronnie and Gary McBrayer, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home and officiated by Chaplain David L. Norris. Burial will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 KY HWY 62E, Cynthiana, Ky. 41031.
