Katherine Short Chilton, 91, of Salvisa, widow of Earl McCoy Chilton, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Jessamine County to the late G.B. and Alice Von Kennedy Short. She was a housewife, member of the Claylick United Methodist Church, and a 1941 graduate of Kavanaugh High School.
She is survived by five daughters, Alice Faye McGaughey and Carolyn Catlett, Lawrenceburg, Clara Reese Bleir, Perryville, Marie (David) Combs, Harrodsburg, Christine (Eddie) Nichols, Salvisa; four sons, Earl Lee (Ann) Chilton, B.R. (Kathy) Chilton, Lois Von Chilton, all of Salvisa, and J.D. (Janet) Chilton, Lawrenceburg; 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Helen Short, Louise Short and Corine Chilton.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dudley, Hanley and Lois "Bud" Short.
Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Joe White and Bro. Anthony Cleary officiating. Burial followed in Hebron Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jennifer Newby, Bridgett Wells, Tammy Gill, Craig McGaughey, Jerry Catlett, Scott Bleir, John Chilton and Chuck Nichols. Honorary bearers will be all other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
