Leon Bottom, 84, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Norton Healthcare in Louisville.
He was born to the late James Gilbert and Madge Lee Wilson Bottom.
He was retired from the State Highway Department, attended the Claylick United Methodist Church, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Blonnie Jean Thompson Bottom; a daughter, Donna (Tim) Spivey; a son, Jimmy (Debbie) Bottom, all of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, Jordan Davis Bottom, Joel Andrew Bottom, of Greencastle, Ind., Timothy J. Spivey, Lawrenceburg; Jennifer Lynne Hayes, Greencastle, Ind., Kimberly Carol Cornish and Amy Elizabeth Spivey, Lawrenceburg; four great grandchildren, Ethan Hayes, Caeley Diane Hayes, Steven Tanner Cornish, Parker Reid Cornish, and an expected great grandson, Timothy Steele Spivey; two sisters, Brenda Jean (Wathan) Barr, Mt. Washington, Nora Florence "Teet" Bresingham, Miami, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Carroll Dean (Ingrid) Bottom, Malta, Ill., Ernest Lee Bottom, Edmonton, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a sister, and several brothers.
Funeral services wer held March 29 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Joe White, Bro. Anthony Cleary and Timothy J. Spivey officiating. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Jordan Bottom, Joel Bottom, Adam Hayes, Derrick Cornish, Timothy J. Spivey, and Amy Spivey.
