Marvin Stewart Perry, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. He was born March 28, 1927 in Anderson Co. to the late Walter Raymond and Gertrude Briscoe Perry.
Mr. Perry attended the Marlow School, worked as a farmer and spent most of his life working in meat processing factories (Edward's and Webber's), and served as a Lawrenceburg City Police officer.
He was a member of the Corinth Christian Church and enjoyed riding horses, fishing, hunting, and being entertained by is grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Grace Dean Perry; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Michael) Nethery of Mt. Eden; two grandchildren, Jennifer Nethery (John) Burkhead and Michael Todd (Michelle) Nethery, all of Mt. Eden; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen Graves of Frankfort; two brothers, Curtis Lee Perry of Lawrenceburg and Ralph Gerald (Anna) Perry of South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Hollis Raymond Perry.
Funeral services were Friday, May 9 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Jacob Cox officiating. Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sean Alteri, Mark Wetzel, Richard Dean, Jr., David Perry, Bobby Isham, and Harold Dean.
Honorary bearers were Pete Mayeski, Jody Hughes, Clint Hardin, Darrell Gabhart, and Price Watkins.
