Michael Darrell Parker, 59, of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly from Lawrenceburg, Ky. stepped from this life into his home in heaven Saturday, April 5, 2014.

He was the son of Jeanette Simpson Parker and the late Willard Payton Parker.
Michael was the owner/operator of Parker Tree Service and a retired Industrial Mechanic from General Cable Corp.
Michael was a member of Punta Gorda First Christian Church where he was the sound technician and of New Life Christian Fellowship of Lawrenceburg, Ky.
Michael loved to study and talk scripture with those of like faith. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He loved NASCAR and eagles.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sharon Hyatt Parker; one daughter, Jenny Michelle Parker; two brothers, Dean (Carmen) Parker and Payton (Teresa) Parker; two sisters, Sherry Parker and April (Jerry) Conrad; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, a God-son nephew & a namesake great-niece.
Michael & Sharon honored the gift of a second chance when he received his double lung transplant on December 4, 2004. They worked tirelessly to take good care of his donor's lungs for 9 years, 4 months and 1 day.
A memorial service celebrating Michael's life will be held Saturday, April 26, at 1 p.m. at Fox Creek Christian Church Life Center, US 62 West in Lawrenceburg, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts in memory of Michael be made to Camp Calvary, 475 Camp Calvary Lane, Mackville, KY 40040.
