Mildred Ann Turner Goodlett, 64, wife of 41 years to Earl Ray Goodlett, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. Born Dec. 30, 1953 in Versailles, Mildred was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Cora Virginia Buntain Turner.
Including her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by a son, James Franklin "Frankie" Stevens, Jr.; four sisters, Charlotte Shea, Rose Lemons, Bonnie Thompson, and Hazel Morris; a half-brother, Donald Turner; and her beloved dog Ellie.
The former owner and operator of Sunset Hill Personal Care Home for 20 years in Anderson County and previously worked 25 years at Texas Instruments in Versailles. Mildred was a graduate of Woodford County High School, a member of Hebron Christian Church and enjoyed fishing, animals, auctions, yard sales, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Mildred is survived by a special son, Matthew Ray (fiancé Tabby) McClease of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Shannon McClease of Lexington; four grandchildren, Cody, Cora, and Hailey Stevens, and Joshua Bryant; two great grandchildren, Skylar Ann McClease and Maci Gail Stevens; three sisters, Gail (Mike) Gallagher of Louisville, Kathy Turner of Danville, and Patricia Settles of Campbellsville; four half-brothers, Wayne Turner, Bill Turner, John Cox, and Ray Cox; two half-sisters, Margaret Townsend and Linda Davis; 12 nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Allie.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. Bro. Glenn Corn officiated the service. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation was Friday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Stevens, Conner Pike, Mike Gallagher, Price Watkins, Johnny Stratton, Dudley Darnell, and Brian Nichols. Honorary bearers will be Judy Wash, Allen Phillips, Drew Goodlett, Joyce Smith, Jimmy McGuffey, Jamie McGuffey, Ethan Stevens, Jerry Walling, and William "Bub" Hyatt.
