Robert Eugene Cox Sr., 83, of Miramar Beach, Fla., formerly of Lawrenceburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, in New Orleans.

He was born July 17, 1931, in Bessmer, Alabama, the son of the late Charles Hayes and Sally Taylor Mann Cox.
Mr. Cox was the co-founder/President of Kentucky Overall
Service. While living in Lawrenceburg, he served as an elder of First Christian Church, a city councilman and mayor pro tem, past president of Lawrenceburg Rotary Club, the Jaycees, director of Anderson National Bank, and as past president of Southeastern Textile Rental Association.
He is survived by three children, Nancy Cox (Spivey) Lipsey of New Orleans, Robert Eugene (Pam) Cox Jr. of Frankfort, and Mitzi Mann (Scott) Brown of Lawrenceburg; eight grandchildren, Spivey Lipsey III, Alex (Andrew) Kinder, Miles (Ashlie) Cox, Clay Cox, Grant Cox, Ross
Cox, Evan Brown, and Spencer Brown; a greatgranddaughter Lilly Cox, and a brother Charles Haze (Faylee) Cox of Texas.
A celebration for the life of Mr. Cox will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg. The service will be officiated by Dr. Mike Hamrick.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
