Rollin Morris Cole, 82, of Lawrenceburg, husband of the late Jeanette Champion Cole, his wife of 63 years, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at his residence.
He was born to the late Jesse Ernest and Grace Morris Cole in Mercer County. He was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement he was a truck driver for Dean's Meadow Gold and Flavor-Rich milk companies. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends and helping out on family farms. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In his declining health he was cared for by Tammy Darnell and later his grandchildren Jamie and Rachel Cole, who resided with him with the assistance of Hospice.
He is survived by three daughters Marsha Cole Phillips (James McCarthy), Barbara Cole Walker, and Mary Cole Fields (Mike) and five sons, Bruce (Carolyn) Cole, Bill (Pam) Cole, Gary Cole, Danny (Teresa) Cole, Donald (Rhonda) Cole, 25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, three sisters Maxine Hahn, Imogene Drury and Pauline Freeman, and many nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law Jane Champion Norman.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Jasper, Jesse, Charles Thomas, Kenneth, and Franklin Cole and three sisters, Henrietta Broughton, Pearl Leathers and Rose Stratton, and two grandsons, David and Christopher Cole, and a daughter-in-law Lisa Bryant Cole.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, beginning at 11a.m. at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Mark Webb and Bro. Fred Knickerbocker will officiate the service. Burial will follow the services at Sand Spring Cemetery in Anderson County. Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Serving as casketbearers will be grandsons and honorary bearers will be Ralph Morris and Garnett Morris.
