Saundra Lee Hoskins Sutherland, 72, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her home. Born July 15, 1945 in Louisville, Saundra was the daughter of the late E. Manson and Ruth Burgin Hoskins.
Along with her parents, Saundra was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Thomas Sutherland and Donald Lee Gay, and a brother, Edward Allen Heckel.
Saundra was a graduate of Western High School and worked as an accountant for Investor's Heritage Life Insurance Company, Rand McNally, Kuhlman Electric, and the Anderson County PVA Office. She was a member of the Glensboro Christian Church and very active with the Friends of the Library. Saundra enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, canning, cooking and most importantly eating.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Sutherland; her sister, Mary Ann (Jimmy) Young; two nieces, Kristy (Jason) Perry and Stacy Heckel; four nephews, David (Holly) Young, Mark Heckel, Todd (Lisa) Heckel, and Gavin (Ann) Heckel; and her very dear friends, Andie Kemplin, Mary Schram, Donna Harrick, Mary Drumer, and the members of the Friends of the Library.
Visitation was held at her home 3166 Mt. Eden Road in Lawrenceburg, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Services were held on Monday, May 7, at her home, 3166 Mt. Eden Road, Lawrenceburg. Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. and Pat Yates officiated. Burial followed in Sutherland Family Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Gavin Heckel, Rex Burkhead, David Willis, David Young, Bob Sanders, and Tim Peavler.
