Verdie Marie "Mama Ree" Riley Carter, 94, widow of Wallace L. Carter Sr., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.
She was a homemaker and member of Fox Creek Christian Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Harper, Linda Mae (Harold) Byrd, Dottie Lee (Don) Hunter, and Connie June (Kenneth) Montgomery, all of Lawrenceburg; two sons, W. L. (Sharon) Carter Jr., Lawrenceburg, Michael Carter, Willisburg; two sisters, Edna Mae Phillips, Salvisa, and Bonnie (Clifford) Royalty, Lawrenceburg; 13 grandchildren, Ron (Robin) Byrd, Tim (Melinda) Byrd, Adam Carter, Ashley (Chris) Sheetinger, Alan (Misty) Montgomery, Janet (Tim) Schell, Grant Hunter, Paula Hunter, Amanda (Trevor) Hardin, Emily (John) Durr, Anna Marie Carpenter, Billie (Mitchell) Phipps, Patti (Eddie) Brantley; 23 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Sparrow, and a brother, W.R. Riley Jr.
