Winston R. Drury, 76, husband of the late Geraldine Stratton Drury, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center.
Born Nov. 19, 1941 in Anderson County, Winston was the son of the late Charlie Earl Drury and Ethel Pearl Barnett Drury.
Along with his wife and parents, Winston was preceded in death by his siblings, Lillian Drury Peach, Alma Jean Drury Darnell, James Earl "Jimmy" Drury, and Paul Granville Drury.
Winston was a former self-employed truck driver. He also worked for Anderson County recycling and served as a former Magistrate in Anderson County. He was a member of Penny's Chapel Methodist Church and enjoyed playing softball, farming, and gardening especially tomatoes.
Winston is survived by his children, Jackie Devine (Jeff Deaton) and Obed Drury; four grandchildren, Chrystal Satterly (Shawn Davis), Derek (Dustie) Devine, Lori (Dan) Shouse, and Shane Drury (Kali Peach); five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Clayton, Leah, Harper, and Lucas; and sister-in-law, Peggy Drury.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, at at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Drury officiated the service. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday.
Serving as pallbearers were Timmy Drury, Jeff Drury, Nathan Hoskins, Ray Hoskins, Jarrod Blakeman, and Dave Drummond. Honorary bearers were Kenneth Stratton, Billy Stratton, Silas Stratton, Charles Peach, Larry Harris, Eric Harris, Sammy Webb, George Peach, Jim Riggle, John Wayne Conway, and Dudley Gash.
