Evelyn Hardin May Deakins, 96, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Willisburg, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at the Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg.
A native of Washington County, she was born on July 17, 1917, to the late Prentice and Lydia Keeling Hardin.
She was a member of the Ralph Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, a former member of the Rockbridge Baptist Church at Willisburg, a former employee of the Springfield Redrying Company and the Eaton Corporation of Harrodsburg.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Barnett May; her second husband Charles Deakins; a great grandchild, Dillon Woolridge and a brother, James Hardin.
Survivors include, two sons, Bobby May and his wife Shirley of Louisville and Dewayne May and his wife Trudy of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Terrie, David and Susan and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. George Dye, officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers were Dewayne May, Steve Brown, Gary Dixon, Adam Dye, George Dye and Tom Gibson.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
