Robert L. "Bobby" Hyatt Jr., 80, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Anderson County to the late Edna Gladys Wallace Hyatt and Robert L. Hyatt Sr.
He was a retired Insurance agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and other insurance companies for 46 years; owner of Hyatt Insurance Agency; and a greeter at Walmart in Lawrenceburg. He served on the Anderson County Board of Education for 12 years; a former member of Lawrenceburg Lions Club; member and past master of Anderson Lodge #90; past high priest and District Governor of Kentucky Grand Lodge; an Eagle Scout and past scout master of Troop #37. He was very active in Little League Sports in Anderson County in baseball, basketball, and football. He was also an Anderson County Middle School coach for one year. Bobby was a certified KHSSA basketball referee; and a volunteer for the Lawrenceburg City Fire Department. He was a member, deacon, assistant treasurer, and a greeter at First Baptist Church; a member of the Joy Sunday school class and the Hims of Harmony. Bobby was a 1952 graduate of Anderson County High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancye Ann Gash Hyatt; two daughters, Tammye (Doug) Hood, Mt. Sterling, Meredith (Bart) Lewis, Lawrenceburg; a son, Todd (Lois Ann) Hyatt, Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren, Zach (Ashley) Hood, Emilee and Erika Hood, Anna Marie Hyatt, McKenna, Dalton, and Allaka Lewis; a great granddaughter, Abigail Sharon Hood; three brothers, Edward Earl (Mary Jo) Hyatt, Jimmy (Carlotta) Hyatt, Lawrenceburg, and Lewis Allen (Sandy) Hyatt, Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Masonic Rites were given Friday night.

Casketbearers were Todd Hyatt, Doug Hood, Bart Lewis, Zach Hood, Dalton Lewis, David Nutgrass, Dave Disponett, and Kenneth Gill.
Honorary bearers were Deacons of First Baptist Church, Donald Hendry, Charles Cammack, Rich and Eric Cantrell, Tom Smith, Wallace Lee Spencer, Philip, Dylan, and Carson Azzinaro, Layne Lilly, Grandchildren, and his Walmart family.
