Joseph B. "J.B." Hawkins, 79, of Lawrenceburg, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Heritage Hall Care Center.
He was born in Anderson County to the late Benjamin S. and Linnie Gibson Hawkins.  He was a self-employed builder and a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church.  He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marlene Redmon Hawkins of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Todd Hawkins, Salvisa and Shannon (Stephenie) Osten, Shelbyville; brother, James A. (Mary) Hawkins and sister-in-law, Barbara Hawkins; all of Lawrenceburg; two granddaughters, Erin and Emily Osten, Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Hawkins and sister-in-law, Myrtle Ann Hawkins.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating.  Burial was in Sand Spring Cemetery.
