Emma Mae Stratton Hughes, 91, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Herman Hughes, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Rosa Cammick Stratton.
She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church, and retired from teaching after 30 plus years in the Anderson County school system. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and graduated from Campbellsville and Georgetown College.
She is survived by her son, Jody E. Hughes, and his wife, Cathy, Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Diane Gabhart, and Jesse, Lawrenceburg, and Rosemary Clemons, and her husband, Joe, Harrodsburg; grandchildren Amy (Mike) Small, Melissa (Allan) Beasley, Shawn Gabhart, all of Lawrenceburg, and Ashley Sutherland, Lexington; great grandchildren, Alexandria Jody Small, Caleb Beasley, both of Lawrenceburg, Ethan Beasley, Lexington, and Kealey Gabhart, Versailles, and a very special friend and caretaker, Tracy Sayre.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Stratton, Sam Stratton, Jr., and James R. Stratton.
Visitation services will be held Thursday, Dec. 20 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Fred Knicherbocker. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
