Amelia Mae Franklin Sparrow, 71, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at her home in Eustis, Fla.

She was the daughter of the late Otis and Nona Frye Franklin.
She was a retired employee with the Kentucky State Fire Marshall's Office; she was a member of the American Quilt Society, KY Heritage Quilt Society, Anderson County Piecemakers, and Central KY Homemakers Quilt Guild in Frankfort. She taught quilting and sewing classes in Anderson and Franklin Counties. She was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church, and a 1959 graduate of Anderson County High School.
She is survived by her husband, Ezra Thomas "Tommy" Sparrow; two daughters, Lisa Spaulding (Ricky), Becky Sparrow, and a son, Kevin Sparrow, all of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Jacob Spaulding (Tracy), Italy, Jordan and Jaron Spaulding, and Brandon Sparrow, all of Lawrenceburg; a great granddaughter, Madelyn Spaulding, Italy; and a cousin, Tish Campbell (Scott), Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21 at 1 p.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roy Temple Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20 from 3-8 p.m.
