Sterling, D. Mark - Brownstown  
D. Mark Sterling, 58, of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015. He was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church. Mark graduated from Brownstown Central High School in 1974 and from Vincennes University in 1976. He loved all music, including bluegrass, and enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing and volunteering at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. Born on April 30, 1956, in Seymour, Indiana, he was the son of William and Thelma Jo Hotchkiss Sterling. His father preceded him in death in 2008 and his mother survives in Brownstown. Survivors also include two sisters, Linda D. Anglin of North Vernon and Barbara A. (Tim) Conner of Peru, Indiana; two nieces, Stephanie (Andrew) Ebbing of North Vernon and Lauren Conner of Bloomington; one nephew, Clark Conner of Indianapolis; two great nieces, Emily Ebbing and Allison Ebbing; and one great nephew, Nicholas Ebbing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Doug Pogue officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be given to the Brownstown Christian Church. www.spurgeonfh.com

Sturgill, Deborah - Medora  
Debora Sturgill, 58, of Medora, Indiana, passed away on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at her residence. She was employed at Valeo Sylvania for 13 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed reading, watching the "Walking Dead" shows and shopping. Born on Nov. 18, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth Perkinson Scavitto, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 20, 1979, in Seymour, Indiana, she married Donnie Sturgill, and he survives. Survivors also include one son, Alexander J. Riley of Medora; three daughters, Charity (Jeremy) Stout of Brownstown, Holly (Joseph) Henline of Cloverdale, and Sarah Sturgill of Bloomington; two step sons, Stevie Sturgill and Mikey Sturgill, both of Hamilton, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Paula Proffitt of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, Mark Driskell of Avon; one sister, Donna Scavitto of Indianapolis; and thirteen grandchildren, Anthony Martin, Chelsea Martin, Santana Stout, Colten Stout, Breanna Stout, Mahaley Riley, Myra Christie, Dustin Proffitt, Jeffery Proffitt, Timothy Sturgill, Steven Sturgill, Hailley Sturgill and Jaden Sturgill. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Snowden; and two brothers, Kenneth Boltinghouse and Michael Driskell. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Matt Roberts officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Scott County, Indiana. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Schneck Medical Center Hospice. www.spurgeonfh.com
