Charles E. "Chuck" Wessel(1929 - 2013)

Mr. Charles E. "Chuck" Wessel, 83, of Seymour passed away Friday, May 3,
2013, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born September 10, 1929, in Wegan, IN, he was the son of Virgil and Bertha
(Redicker) Wessel
On August 24, 1952, he married Loretta J. Trimpe who survives
Mr. Wessel was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he held several
offices. He was a 1948 graduate of Shields High School in Seymour and was
a veteran of the US Army serving from 1948 to 1949. Previous owner of
Wessel Small Engines & Hardware and was a member of the American Legion
Post # 89. Chuck enjoyed playing dart ball and working in his garden.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children Doug (Leigh) Wessel, Paula
(Jeff) Hackman, Dianna (Greg) Gilley, Dennis C. Wessel, 7 grandchildren
Jennifer Hackman, Blake Gilley, Tyler Wessel, Daniel Hackman, Laura Wessel
Parker, Allison Wessel Sparks, Brandon Gilley, 6 great grandchildren,
brothers Richard Wessel, Rev. James (Virginia) Wessel, Allen "Butch"
(Delores) Wessel, and sisters Janet (Floyd) Behrens, and Agnes (Bill)
Dailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Douglas Wayne Wessel,
brothers, Eugene Wessel, Victor Wessel, and Robert H. Wessel.
Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday, May
6, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Currao and Rev. Daniel Lepley officiating.
Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday, from 3 to 6 p.m. and on Monday
at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials may be written to Trinity Lutheran High School or Hospice of
Schneck Medical Center.
