Rosa (Cockerham) Bane

Rosa Bane, 98, Brownstown, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
She was born June 6, 1914 in Freetown to the late Stanley and Lucy (Beavers) Cockerham. On March 11, 1946 she married Ivan Bane, and he precedes her in death.
Mrs. Bane was a member of the Ratcliff Grove Christian Church. She had been a member of the Extension Homemakers Club, Brownstown Craft Club, and Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary. She enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and she loved her flower garden.
Survivors include children, Glen (Dixie) Bane, Gloria Baughman, Richard (Roberta) Bane, Vickie (Mike) Hawn, Bill (Gina) Bane and Edith (Dick) Gambrel; son in-law, Jerry (Shelby) Hounshel; sisters in-law, Lucille Bane and Helen Cockerham; faithful friend, Jo Engle; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan E. Bane; infant son, Ivan Eugene Bane; daughter, Linda Hounshel; son-in-law, Herschel Baughman; six brothers and four
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Brownstown Christian Church, with Bill Lockman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Brownstown Christian Church Building Fund.
