Thomas Lee Herzner, Sr., 69, Brownstown, died 3 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
He was born July 19, 1944 in Cincinnati to William and Elsie May Maley Herzner, who both preceded him in death.
Mr. Herzner, Sr. retired from the United States Navy
and the United States Army
Reserves, as well as from Cummins Engine Co.
Survivors include five sons: William R. Herzner, Nome, Alaska, T.J. (Amanda) Herzner, Brownstown, Paul (Lisa) Brashear, Tulsa, Okla., Timothy (Lacey) Herzner, Brownstown, and Kevin Nelson, Columbus, Ohio; five daughters: Terri (Mark) Umble, Brownstown, Jennifer (Kwan) Herzner, San Leandro, Calif., Nicole Herzner, Seymour, Michelle (Billy) Purdue, Columbus, Ind. and Karen (Chris) Kinser, Columbus, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kailynn Spinks; three brothers: William Herzner, Louis Herzner and Robert Herzner; and one sister, Beverly Herzner.
Funeral services and interment will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, April 7 at Veteran's National Cemetery in Madison.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, which is handling funeral arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the family for the Brownstown Baseball Association.
